DL® XTab
DL® XTab provides blind users with direct access to program controls. Everyone can now set the tab order themselves. No programming knowledge is required for this. Users thus become independent of script adaptations, and costs can be saved. The user can react flexibly to changes in the software.
DL® XTab additionally makes control elements accessible via the so-called "first letter navigation". Blind users usually press Tab to move from control to control. They hear whether they have reached the desired control and press Tab until they have reached the desired control. This slows down the work.
With DL® XTab a list of controls like input fields, switches, checkboxes etc. appears and by typing in the first letters the focus jumps directly to the corresponding control. With "vo", for example, you can go directly to the field "First name". The time saving is considerable.
DL® XTab can also search for controls. If an input field is called "Enter your ID here", for example, you can search for "id" and jump directly to the input field.
The described technology is independent of the screen reader, so it works with Cobra, Jaws, Window-Eyes, NVDA and Supernova.
We see the area of application for DL® XTab and DL® XTab SAP in three areas:
- Compensation of disadvantages in order to counter the increasing complexity of software systems.
- Reduction of work stoppages caused by software updates in connection with no longer functioning scripts.
- Independence from technical limitations.
